EXECUTIVE COACHING

Using evidence-based, psychological approaches to support goal attainment and create sustainable change

Taking Notes

Coaching is an individualised experience aimed at enhancing productivity and quality of life in individuals, organisations and the broader community.   Kylie's approach to coaching is underpinned by scientific foundations and evidence-based psychological principles, combined with extensive knowledge about business having delivered services to corporate clients for 19 years.  Kylie has a life-long commitment to learning and growth and has recently returned to university to complete the world-renowned Master of Science in Coaching Psychology at the University of Sydney.

Combining her academic knowledge with 19 years of work experience as a registered Psychologist, Kylie has a wealth of knowledge and experience that she brings to her coaching clients.  Kylie has a unique background of having worked across organisational psychology, clinical psychology and neuropsychology roles.  Each of these experiences influence the value she can add as a coach and the unique lenses that she can apply to support people to achieve excellence.

Kylie’s specialised training in coaching psychology allows her to support a broad range of coaching clients on issues such as goal attainment, creating change, building motivation, deepening personal insight and self-awareness, understanding personality, wellbeing and peak performance.

Kylie understands the complexities of workplaces and supports her coaching clients to resolve both individual and systemic challenges.  Kylie is passionate about supporting her coaching clients to understand the role that their own personality and thinking styles play in how they behave and perform as a leader, as well as how they respond to and resolve the environmental and organisational issues they are facing. Kylie has found that her skills as a coaching psychologist have been particularly helpful for managers and leaders who have strong technical skills and achieve results, but are receiving feedback that their interpersonal skills, communication and influencing skills, and their capacity to inspire and motivate their direct reports are in need of improvement.

Kylie has worked with many high performing individuals who have been viewed positively by their workplace with a good reputation, yet internally their mental health and wellbeing has been suffering.  Kylie believes that mental health is something that everyone has and needs to invest energy into maintaining, just like physical health, and views it as being something that is not always directly linked to quality of performance.  When it comes to supporting her coaching clients to have good mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, Kylie is passionate about taking a proactive, preventative and early intervention approach to mental health issues arising.

Before transitioning her focus to psychology in the workplace, Kylie spent several years in the early part of her career working in clinical roles across various hospitals, supporting people who had mental illness and neurological deficits (brain injuries, strokes etc.).  Kylie has seen that mental illness, neurodiversity and neurological deficits do not discriminate with many highly intelligent, successful and capable individuals experiencing these.  Kylie draws on this experience in her role as a corporate coach to support these individuals to succeed in their workplace.  Kylie’s dual qualifications in clinical neuropsychology provides her with an advanced understanding of the role of the brain and cognitions, and their interrelatedness with emotions and behaviours.  This enables her to assist her coaching clients to leverage from their cognitive strengths to achieve their workplace and life goals.

Kylie has coached leaders from both private and public sector organisations including the Catholic Education Office, Westpac, Department of Defence, ActewAGL, Dept of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (now Agriculture, water and environment), Department of Human Services (now Services Australia) and Customs (now Department of Home Affairs).

Kylie understands that the success of a coaching engagement can be impacted by the experience of the coach, the style of coaching used and the unique needs of the coaching client.  Kylie offers complimentary compatibility/chemistry checks to potential clients.  She has also established relationships with a range of highly experienced coaches and is able to recommend alternative coaches as required.
