ABOUT US

Kylie Young Consulting is a specialist psychology firm focused on supporting people to work to their full potential whilst maintain good mental health and wellbeing.  All services are underpinned by evidence-based psychological principles, drawn from several areas of specialty including organisational psychology, coaching psychology, clinical psychology and neuropsychology.  These principles are converted into practical strategies to support people in the workplace to perform and feel at their optimum, without losing sight of broader business objectives.  We offer solutions at an individual, team and organisational level and our approach can incorporate assessments, coaching, workshops, presentations, mental health and wellbeing interventions, consulting and advisory support. 

ABOUT KYLIE YOUNG

Kylie is a registered psychologist with 20 years of experience and has expertise across organisational psychology, coaching psychology, neuropsychology and clinical psychology.  Her qualifications include a Master of Science in Coaching Psychology, in progress (University of Sydney); Master of Clinical Neuropsychology (Macquarie University); Honours Degree of Bachelor of Psychology, First Class (Macquarie University); Certificate in Coaching (NeuroLeadership Group) and Certificate in Counselling (Lifeline).  Kylie is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA), is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), Affiliate member of College of Organisational Psychologists (APS) and Member of the APS Coaching Interest Group.  Kylie combines her academic and scientific background with extensive practical corporate experience to offer best practice, evidence-based approaches that are tailored to best meet her client’s needs.

 

Kylie’s training and experience, particularly in the early part of her career, was strongly focused on assessment and diagnostics, within both organisational psychology and neuropsychology roles. She is passionate about understanding what causes and drives people’s experiences and outward behaviours, and uses assessments to support individuals and organisations to better understand what is going on beneath the surface.  Kylie has a proven track record of incorporating assessment into her service offerings to create deeper insight and more sustainable changes.   

 

Kylie is regularly engaged to support organisations with a range of corporate people solutions. This includes conducting assessments (psychometric assessments and assessment centres) for recruitment and development, leadership development programs, coaching programs, workshop design and delivery, and key note speaking.  Kylie’s unique combination of skills has resulted in her regularly being sought to support organisations to navigate the complexities of workplace mental health. Kylie supports organisations across the entire workplace mental health and wellbeing continuum; from preventative and early intervention strategies through to recovery and return to work. Kylie is also engaged directly by individuals for assessments and coaching.

Kylie believes that greater things can be achieved when experts come together to share ideas, concepts and tools. She has built relationships with a wide range of experienced psychologists, coaches, and consultants and draws on their expertise to best meet her client's needs. 

 

Kylie also works as an associate for other organisations which complement her approach and key principles.

Kylie’s key areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Coaching managers who have strong technical skills and achieve results but are needing to enhance their interpersonal, relationship, communication and influencing skills

  • Using assessment to increase people’s understanding of their personality characteristics, unique motives and drivers, and cognitive capacities (intellect, executive functioning, learning, memory etc.) to support people to reach their full potential

  • Developing tailored stress management plans for individuals and providing coaching support to successful reduce stress and begin to flourish

  • Taking a proactive, preventative and early intervention approach towards mental health issues to reduce the prevalence of mental illness and suicide

  • Supporting managers to identify and deal with mental health issues in the workplace

  • Creating psychologically safe workplaces and enabling organisations to identify and proactively manage the psychosocial risk factors which leave employees at risk of psychological injury

  • Coaching people with mental illness and neurodiverse individuals to have optimum wellbeing and to achieve high performance in the workplace
